Bare concrete floors in commercial buildings are dust factories — they stain, crack, and shed dust that settles on inventory, equipment, and everything else. Epoxy floor coatings transform tired concrete into a seamless, glossy, chemical-resistant surface that is easier to clean, safer to work on, and dramatically better looking. Cincinnati Commercial Painting installs professional epoxy floor systems for warehouses, garages, and commercial facilities across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Epoxy is not paint — it is a two-part resin system that bonds to concrete and cures into a hard, thick, plastic-like surface. Done right, with proper diamond grinding and surface prep, it resists forklifts, chemicals, hot tires, and years of abuse. Done wrong, it peels. We do it right.

What’s Included in Our Epoxy Floor Coatings

  • Diamond grinding and concrete surface preparation
  • Crack repair and concrete patching
  • Epoxy primer, build coats, and topcoats

  • Chemical-resistant topcoats for harsh environments
  • Urethane topcoats for UV stability where needed

Benefits of Epoxy Floors for Commercial Facilities

An epoxy floor changes how a facility operates. The seamless surface eliminates concrete dust, so inventory and equipment stay cleaner. Spills — oil, chemicals, water — wipe up instead of soaking in and staining. The glossy, light-reflective finish brightens the whole space, improving visibility and safety while reducing lighting needs. And with line striping and safety zones locked into the coating, your floor markings never peel or fade.

For facility managers, the economics are compelling. A professionally installed epoxy system lasts many years under forklift traffic, compared to concrete sealers or paint that wear through in months. Less maintenance, fewer shutdowns for floor work, and a facility that looks sharp for customers, auditors, and employees.

Our Epoxy Installation Process

Epoxy lives or dies on prep, so our process starts there: diamond grinding to open the concrete, crack and spall repair, and moisture testing. Then we apply the system — primer, epoxy build coats (with decorative flake or quartz if specified), and a protective topcoat — with proper cure times between coats. Most commercial epoxy projects are completed in 3–5 days including cure time, scheduled around your operations. See our 6-step commercial process for how we manage every project.

Ideal Properties for Epoxy Floor Coatings

We coat warehouse and distribution floors, manufacturing and industrial floors, auto shops and service bays, commercial garages and parking structures, restaurant kitchens and food prep areas, retail back-of-house areas, and airplane hangars. Pair with our warehouse & industrial painting for a complete facility refresh.

Epoxy Floor Coating FAQs

How long does epoxy flooring last?

A professionally installed epoxy system on properly prepared concrete typically lasts 5–10 years or more in commercial and industrial settings, depending on traffic and maintenance. The keys are diamond-grind prep and correct film thickness — both standard in our installations.

Can you apply epoxy while we stay open?

We usually coat in sections so part of your facility keeps operating, or schedule the work over weekends and shutdowns. Epoxy needs cure time between coats and before traffic, so we plan the timeline with you in advance.

What’s the difference between epoxy paint and real epoxy?

One-part “epoxy paints” sold in stores are just paint with epoxy in the name — they wear quickly. We install true two-part epoxy resin systems that chemically cure into a thick, hard surface. It is a completely different product class.

Is epoxy slippery when wet?

It can be, which is why we offer anti-slip additives — aluminum oxide or polymer grit — blended into the topcoat for traction in wet or oily areas, without sacrificing cleanability.
